- ASA Propulsion -

The following pages review the basic propulsion concepts of the ASA rocket motors.  These pages are not intended to be an absolute reference of equations or information – they are intended to answer questions about rocket motor design and operation, and point you in the right direction.

The ASA propulsion topics include:

·        Liquid Rocket Motor Fundamentals

·        Rocket Motor Specific Impulse

·        Solid-Rocket Motor Propulsion for the ASA Test Launch Vehicles

·        ASA Test Stand Liquid Rocket Motor (in development)

·        Efficiency comparisons (Liquid, Solid, and Hybrid systems)

Rocket motor design and operation is hazardous, and ASA wants you to be safe if you intended to design your own rocket motor.  Please ask if you have questions – we want to help!

Contact Rob Morehead at rmorehead@asa-houston.org if you have questions relative to the ASA propulsion department.
