Administration:
President and Chief Engineer- Rob Morehead
BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas. Mr. Morehead is the founder of the
Amateur Spaceflight Association. In
addition to providing leadership to ASA, Mr. Morehead has noteworthy
experience in the design and construction of liquid-fuel rocket motors and
is the Propulsion Systems Lead for ASA.
Aside from his volunteer duties for ASA, Mr. Morehead works in the Space
Shuttle Program office at NASA. Previously,
Mr. Morehead worked in the Space Shuttle Mission Control with the shuttle
main propulsion system.
Vice President
- Steve Weismuller
MS in Computer Science from the University of Houston. Mr. Weismuller has extensive experience
in distributed information systems, process control, and management. His corporate experience includes the
development of significant elements of the NASA Mission
Control Center
software infrastructure, the Vice President of Professional Services at
Naknan Inc, and Mr. Weismuller’s current employment as the Chief
Communications Architect for advanced programs at Boeing Inc.
Secretary
- Nic Radford
BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. Mr. Radford’s corporate experience
includes refrigeration systems for the International Space Station, the
Robotics console in the Space Shuttle Mission Control, and Mr.
Radford’s current employment as the Chief Electrical Engineer for
ROBONAUT, the NASA robotic astronaut.
Mr. Radford is also the Data Systems Lead for ASA.
Financial
Officer - Lisa Bessinger
BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas. Ms. Bessinger is currently employed as a
timeline and planning officer in the International Space Station Mission
Control. Ms. Bessinger also
contributes rocket design and construction experience to the ASA team.
